Various studies have shown that simply having a plant in your space not only reduces stress hormones, but also increases concentration/productivity. Which is pretty cool- because plants are very low maintenance. So today’s task is to hang out with some plants. Here are some suggestions:
Aloe Vera: The gel consists of 96% water and Queen Cleopatra was said to use it daily.
Lavender: Its nectar is used for high quality honey and was also used in the mummification process in Egypt.
Peace Lily: Fantastic for purifying air, NASA has studied it for space missions.
Jasmine: It’s fragrant flower is highly sought after and is often used in teas for calming.
My insights: I enjoy plants and gardening. As I have discussed earlier, nature is very grounding for me and generally having plants around is no exception. In my home I have a few orchids and an aloe vera plant. Outside I love having a garden and generally cultivating a healthy yard.
In the world: Take some time outside today to enjoy the nature we have. If you can- find an opportunity to assist in maintaining some green space. Every little bit helps to make our planet a little greener.
